Food, food, glorious food. Because I just can't get enough of it! The food experience is an important part of traveling as well as of daily life. Sometimes I feel a bit nerdy taking photo's of all my food and drinks (I must admit to have skipped some photo moments because I felt too embarrassed) but in general I am shamelessly taking snaps of all the goodness. So here yet another collage of my great hobby of eating.
Saleb in Sarajevo. I tried it for the first time in Turkey and it is so amazing. Very different than most other drinks I tried. It has cinnamon and flower extracts and lots of other things and you need to drink it while it's still hot.
Amazing grilled fish in Blagaj in Bosnia. Really, one of the best once I ever ate!
Cake with Snickers flavour in a cake café in Mostar. There was so much choice and everything looked so delicious. It really makes you want to order everything.
A mixed fish dish in a Greek restaurant in Luxembourg. The food at this place is very amazing. Really one of my favourite places to go for lunch.
A salmon and avocado salad at a Danish deli in Luxembourg. They did not have may different dishes, but the ingredients were very nice and they also sold Danish drinks and snacks. A good non-travel food discovery.
I just wanted to show this picture because of the tomato rose. Pure food art. And delicious too!
Ice cream on a terrace with a most amazing view from the top of the hill in Vianden.
Strangely prepared potatoes in typical Czech dishes (and that's an understatement of how strange the texture was). The grilled duck and the goulash were fab though.
Luxembourgish fast food that is sold at all market and fairs. Just potatoes with onions and some herbs, but they taste great. Strangely, they go very well with apple compote.
Another of my favourite lunch places close to work. Especially this dish is my very favourite. Red wine with a pizza with chorizo and goats cheese with extra chili's.
My very welcome coffee and breakfast after my early arrival in Prague.
Breakfast in Porto. That croissant was so fluffy and light it got taken right from my plate by a gust of wind and land on the street. Cartoon comedy fml moment!
I love the look (and the taste) of this dish! You must be quite skilled to create this without the yoke breaking.
Ok, this sweet pizza looks a tiny bit terrible. But imagine chocolate sauce with chocolate pieces and mint ice cream together with the dough. It's worth the nausea you feel after eating.
Morzerella bruscettas in Porto. They tasted surprisingly good considering that we were sitting at a pretty crappy looking restaurant where the waiter seemed annoyed that he had to serve us food.
This is a mini version of a typical dish from the north of Portugal. It is basically a sandwich with a lot of different meats, wrapped in cheese, floating in tomato sauce. One bite almost traumatized me. And not because it was so good. But that's probably because I don't really like meat and I really don't like soggy bread. Most places also served fries floating along in the sauce. Oh horror!
Good old Pizza Hut! Took me ages before I finally ate there once but I have to admit I love it. I am fascinated by the wonders they can work with the crust (cheese, sausages, etc.). Nasty and sinful but never disappointing.
In my next round of food galore I will have the pictures of my dinner in a Michelin star restaurant. So much excitement and fanciness. So more food will follow. Because after all, we need to eat every day.
