I thought I had traveled to many places and had seen many things. At least, until I bought a scratch world map. As I enthusiastically scratched away all the countries I visited, I realized I have seen only a very small part of the world. The major part of my map is still bronze and undiscovered. See here, the results of my scratch map unscratched:
Clearly, I still have much traveling to do. There are so many places to go and it is so difficult to choose. Until now, I have never traveled very far. I usually do several smaller trips rather than one big trip. I have seen most of southern, middle and western Europe. But there is so much more! And did we not all see one of those images stating the following?:
When you are a student, you have time and energy, but no money
When you are working, you have money and energy, but no time
When you retire, you have time and money, but no energy
It's got quite a lot of truth in it, but I will do my best
not to fit into this story. I have already been the student without much money to travel and now I am the person who is working and has limited free time. But I have decided that should not stop me and have saved up my free days to send my manager a big fat holiday request of three weeks in a row. And it has been approved! I still have much planning to do, but it looks like it is really happening. At the end of this year I will make my longest and furthest away trip ever - to Asia!
Adventure, here I come.
